Customers can now access a great new SMS Banking service from National Australia Bank. You're used to using SMS to keep in touch with family and friends – now you can use it to keep in touch with your money as well.
Andrew Thorburn, NAB's Executive General Manager Retail, said SMS Banking was the latest exciting banking innovation for customers, answering the call for services that can help customers when they're on the go.
"We've promised our customers we'll look for smarter ways to make banking easier, and SMS Banking is just one of the ways we're delivering on that promise", Mr Thorburn said.
From today, NAB customers can use SMS to request and receive an account balance, a mini statement, or transfer funds between their linked NAB accounts.
"With NAB SMS Banking you'll never have another one of those "oh no" moments again – you can instantly check to see if there's enough money in your account to pay that bill, buy those groceries or treat yourself to a new pair of shoes," Mr Thorburn said.
"This is a fantastic new service for everyone, from students and tradespeople through to busy people and professionals. These days everyone needs quick and easy ways to manage their lives, and you'll get that with NAB SMS Banking. It's just one more way we can help you stay connected and in touch", Mr Thorburn said.
"Not only can you use NAB SMS Banking on any Australian telecommunications network, from anywhere in Australia there is mobile phone coverage, but if you've got global roaming you can use it overseas as well – and that makes keeping an eye on your holiday spending very easy."
"We've made this a free service* until 1 November 2008 so that people can try out the new SMS Banking features for themselves and see how quick, easy and convenient it really is', said Mr Thorburn.
NAB's SMS Banking is the simplest and easiest form of mobile phone banking – you don't need a special phone or any new software. Once you complete the online registration process, the service is available for immediate use.
