NAB announces relief package for customers impacted by NSW and Victorian floods

6 March 2012

National Australia Bank (NAB) can today confirm details of a package of relief measures available for customers who have been impacted by recent flooding in central and northern NSW and north and north east Victoria.

NAB's Retail General Manager NSW South & ACT, Irene Rowlands said that NAB is committed to supporting customers and employees who have been affected by the recent floods.

"We know that at difficult times like this our customers and our staff need our support, which is why we have established an assistance package for affected customers," Ms Rowlands said.

All NAB customers affected by the floods are eligible for support and are encouraged to contact their nearest branch, or for business customers their local business banker, as soon as possible to discuss their individual circumstances.

Impacted NAB and Homeside customers are eligible for a range of relief measures including:

  • Suspension of home loan repayments
  • Waive home loan and personal loan fees and charges
  • Waive costs and charges for withdrawing term deposits early
  • Provide credit card and personal loan relief where appropriate
  • Provide support for restructuring existing banking facilities

NAB will continue to monitor the situation in Victoria and NSW as well as the developing situation in south-east Queensland to ensure customers and employees are provided with the necessary assistance.

For further details or assistance customers can visit their nearest branch, contact their local business banker or call NAB Care on 1800 701 599.
