Name: Kirra Maker
Your role: Banking Advisor
Region: Casuarina, Northern Territory
What’s your story?
I grew up in Queensland and moved to Darwin in the Northern Territory three years ago. I’m a home lending specialist based in Casuarina. I’m a people person who loves to learn new things and to help and support my colleagues in their own development. I love my clients and value the ability to be a big part of someone’s life through their banking. Working at NAB has been the best five years of my life and even though I never saw myself in banking, I now can’t imagine doing anything else.
How has NAB made a difference?
I back my customers every day and help them achieve their dream of owning their own home. I’ve told them when it isn’t a good time for them or when it is. I once helped a young family through the journey of purchasing a home, making sure that every process was followed and that nothing was missed in their application. On the day that their house settled, their three year old daughter hugged me and said ‘thank you for our home’. It was at that moment that I knew I was doing good things and for the right reasons.
What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about investing my time into everyone, I love watching everyone grow and knowing I’ve helped – there is nothing more satisfying than that. My family and dogs are also very important to me. I’m grateful for the support and encouragement those closest have given me on my journey with NAB.
