John is one of NAB's many driven and highly motivated Graduates.
Name: Ruby Dicker
Your role: Intern, Social Media Command Centre
Region: Docklands, Victoria
What’s your story?
My NAB story is currently very short, however I’ve loved my time here so far. I joined NAB as a part of the Career Trackers Indigenous program for a three month internship and was placed with the very vibrant and dynamic Social Media team who work in the Social Media Command Centre. I’m currently studying Advertising at RMIT University, and the knowledge my colleagues have given me will not be forgotten. Not only have I learnt things that will improve my university degree, but it will better my career path and I’m very grateful.
How have you made a difference?
In my very short amount of time here I do like to think that I have made a difference. It’s been as simple as having conversations with my team and broader colleagues about the experiences and benefits of offering internships to Indigenous students. Creating awareness amongst the office has been my greatest achievement, and I hope that this continues even after I have completed my placement here.
What are you passionate about?
Besides my (expensive!) passion for travelling, I love to create, design and use Photoshop. This passion has driven me to want a career in Advertising as an Art Director. Since working for NAB, I have developed a love for the work required in Social Media and hope that I can combine them both in the future. I am also passionate about my family and fellow indigenous students. Empowering other students to take up employment opportunities to develop their future really does inspire me.
