Name: Tipa Lale
Your role: Branch Manager
Region: Stones Corner, Queensland
What’s your story?
I grew up in Brisbane and I’m the youngest in my family. I was lucky to grow up in a very loving environment and was supported by many relatives. Our core principles were respect, loyalty and hard work and these formed the foundation of my core values as a leader which I use these every day with my team. My parents were two very hard working people who made our dream life in Australia a reality. I enjoy developing the Polynesian community, professionally leading my team in the Stones Corner branch and cultivating a community that strives to better themselves and their futures.
How has NAB made a difference?
Growing up, I rarely saw any Polynesian people, especially during my studies at university. So I set myself a goal to graduate, I wanted to demonstrate to myself that I could do it and that show other young Polynesian people they could do it too. I work with Samoan youth in my community and encourage them to make their dreams a reality also. I believe that inspiring others to value education and see its importance is one of the ways I have made a difference for young people.
What are you passionate about?
My passion supersedes my dreams most days. I love challenging the way people think, view life and view work and inspiring others to focus on making a difference. Becoming involved in my community is another driver of mine which speaks to the many weekends I’ve spent connecting with those around me. Family is most important to me, life with family is fulfilling!
