As your payments are processed by NAB Connect, they will go through a number of status changes, all of which are visible to you on the Payment register page. The table below details the status types that a payment can have in NAB Connect and what each means.

Requires authorisation
The payment has been submitted and is now awaiting authorisation as defined by your authorisation rule(s).

Requires repair
NAB was unable to process this payment. You may view the Payment History for further information.

Common causes:

  • The payment contained errors detected by NAB Connect
  • The payment was stopped from being authorised by a member of your organisation
  • The payment was declined by NAB as there were insufficient funds to process it.

Payments that require repair will not be processed until some action is taken by your organisation.

Requires approval
Payment has exceeded the Daily Client Control Limit set by your organisation. Users with the appropriate access may Approve the payment for processing, or send the payment for repair by selecting Decline.

Processing
Payment is currently processing. The status will be updated to Processed upon successful completion.

Processed
Payment has been successfully processed by NAB.

Processed with invalid transactions
Payment has been successfully processed by NAB. Invalid transactions will be returned to your account overnight.

Future dated
Payment is authorised and is being held for processing on the nominated value date.

Pending Funds
This payment could not be processed due to insufficient funds in your account. NAB will attempt to process this payment every 30 minutes today and will be processed if funds become available by 6pm (Melbourne time). If the funds are not available, this payment will move into a status of ‘Requires repair’.

Requires bank approval
The payment has breached your current available funds and formal limit. The payment is now awaiting NAB Approval.

Validating
NAB Connect is validating your payment data.

Failed
Payment could not be processed by NAB. You can view the payment history for further information.
