UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights
NAB has committed to uphold the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and is working to integrate these principles into its approach to managing Human Rights.
International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) – Pilot Programme
NAB actively contributed to the development of the International Integrated Reporting Framework that was published in December 2013. NAB is one of only five Australian companies that continues to be a part of the IIRC Pilot Programme Business Network. Read more about our involvement in this program.
OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises
NAB supports the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and has publically done so since 2004. The OECD Guidelines articulate good corporate practice for companies operating in different jurisdictions and are supported by the governments in the main countries in which we operate.
Natural Capital Declaration
NAB is a launch signatory of the Natural Capital Declaration, endorsing a finance sector declaration on natural capital in December 2011.
London Benchmarking Group (LBG) Australia/New Zealand
LBG Australia / New Zealand is a business membership organisation whose members commit to measuring and benchmarking their corporate community investment contributions using the LBG methodology. We joined the LBG in 2006 and continue to hold a position on the LBG Steering Committee.
Water Stewardship Australia
NAB is a member of Water Stewardship Australia. This is a not-for-profit member based entity that manages a regional water stewardship program for Australia and the Asia-Pacific.

NAB is a member of the Sustainable Business Network NZ, a not-for-profit incorporated society with a vision of a transformed business world in which organisations thrive because they cherish the resources and people they depend on.

NAB is a member of the Sustainable Business Council (SBC) of New Zealand. SBC is a CEO led group of companies that catalyses the New Zealand business community to have a leading role in creating a sustainable future for business, society and the environment.

NAB is a member of Sustainable Business Australia, a business think tank and advocacy group that promotes commercial solutions to environmental challenges.
2°C Challenge Communiqué
NAB is a signatory to the 2ºC Communiqué initiative which calls on governments to break the deadlock in international negotiations and take action at a national level to ensure a successful transition to green growth and a climate resilient economy.
Australian Government’s FluoroCycle Scheme
NAB is a signatory of the Australian Government’s FluoroCycle Scheme. This is a voluntary product stewardship scheme that seeks to increase the national recycling rate of waste mercury-containing lamps. Lamp recycling can help reduce the amount of mercury being sent to landfill. The scheme targets the commercial and industrial sectors where the bulk of waste lamps are generated.
United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles
BNZ became a signatory to the Women’s Empowerment Principles in March 2012. The Women's Empowerment Principles are a set of principles for business that offer guidance on how to empower women in the workplace, marketplace and community. They are the result of collaboration between the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and the United Nations Global Compact.
UN Women National Committee Aotearoa New Zealand
BNZ is a member of UN Women National Committee Aotearoa New Zealand, which supports the mission of UN Women through advocacy and fundraising. Through this initiative, BNZ raises awareness in New Zealand of the issues affecting women around the world, raises money to fund UN Women projects, and lobbies the government in support of UN Women’s work.
