What does EFTPOS settlement mean?

Settlement is the transfer of funds received from EFTPOS, NAB Debit card and credit card payments into your business transaction account. This is the process you must complete at the end of each day so you can be paid for your transactions.

Setting up manual settlement on EFTPOS terminal Ingenico

  1. Press Menu on your home screen.
  2. Press 3 for Batch then 1 to Settle.
  3. Press Yes to print your transaction list.

Important:

  • You can only settle manually when auto-settlement is disabled on your terminal.
  • Your terminal settles once within 24 hours at 9.30pm AEST. This is a default time setup by your technician but you can change this by following our steps on automatic settlements of your terminal.

  1. Press Menu on your home screen.
  2. Choose 6 for Settlement, then press Select, then press 1.
  3. Do settlement NAB? Press Yes.
  4. You'll see a successful message, then press Yes if you'd like to print your transaction listing.

  2. Press Enter to change time displayed. Enter new automatic settlement time in 24 hour format (for example, 8pm is 20:00). Press Cancel to exit.

Helpful hint: The new automatic settlement time starts the next day.

  1. Press the Menu button on the home screen.
  2. Select option 6 Settlement and press Select.
  3. Select option 5 Auto Settle Setup and press Select.
  4. Select Enable.
  5. You can also choose if you'd like to enable or disable printing the transaction listing after the terminal settles.
  6. Enter the time you'd like to settle in 24 hour format (for example, 8pm is 20.00) and press OK.

Helpful hint: The new automatic settlement time starts the next day.

Pre-settle EFTPOS terminal Verifone

  1. Select the Menu button on the home screen.
  2. Choose 6. Settlement and press Select.
  3. Choose 2. Pre-Settlement and press Select.
  4. Do settlement NAB? Press Yes.
  5. To print a listing of all transactions from last settlement to current time, select Yes.
  6. An acknowledgement will be displayed advising the pre-settlement was successful.
  7. Performing this function does not settle your terminal.

Pre-settle EFTPOS terminal Ingenico

  1. Select the Menu button on the home screen.
  2. Choose 3 for Batch then 4 for Batch Totals.
  3. Choose Yes to print your transaction list.
  4. Performing this function does not settle your terminal.

Disabling auto-settlement on EFTPOS terminal Ingenico

  1. Press Func, then 13 and Enter.
  2. Press Enter to change time displayed.
  3. Enter your new automatic settlement time in this format 00:00 and press Enter.

Disabling auto-settlement on EFTPOS terminal Verifone

  1. Press the Menu button on your home screen.
  2. Select option 6 Settlement and press Select.
  3. Select option 7 Clear auto settlement process and press Select.
  4. Press Yes again to confirm you've disabled auto settlement.

Viewing your last settlement on EFTPOS terminal Ingenico

  1. Press Menu on your home screen, and press 3 for Batch Pre-settlement totals.
  2. Press 2 for Last Settlement.

Important: Printing or viewing your transactions doesn't mean your terminal is settled. You'll have to do this separately. Find out how to settle your terminal automatically or settle your terminal manually.

Viewing your last settlement on EFTPOS terminal Verifone

  1. Select the Menu button on the home screen.
  2. Choose 6 Settlement and press Select.
  3. Choose 3 Last Settlement and press Select.
  4. Press Yes.
  5. Select Yes to print your transactions from your last settlement to now.
  6. You'll see a successful message.
