Read the fine print and look for credit cards that don’t charge fees for overseas cash withdrawals or checking your balance at an international ATM. You can avoid balance inquiry fees by checking your accounts in NAB Internet Banking or the NAB app while you travel. You can also avoid cash withdrawal fees by planning ahead and organising cash in international currencies before you travel.

Credit cards that let you earn points on your everyday purchases are a great option for travelling. While NAB doesn’t offer specific travel rewards credit cards, we do have several rewards cards that allow you to earn and redeem points for a variety of rewards, including travel. This includes our NAB Rewards Signature Credit Card, which was awarded the Canstar 2024 Outstanding Value Travel Credit Card Award. With travel rewards cards you could enjoy great deals on domestic and international flights, selected accommodation and even holiday packages.

Important Upcoming Complimentary Insurance changes
Effective 15 May 2026 – There will be insurance changes including the removal of International Travel, Domestic Travel and Rental Vehicle Excess Insurances for some NAB cards. For some other NAB cards, the cover period for International Travel Insurance will be reduced.

NAB tools and services for travel
NAB Concierge Service
- The NAB Concierge Service is a travel and lifestyle service available 24 hours, seven days a week.
- Before you leave, you could get help with flights, hotel bookings, car rentals and more.
- While you’re away, your concierge can provide you with emergency travel assistance including interpretation assistance.
- It’s available to Platinum Visa Debit, Qantas Rewards and NAB Rewards cardholders.
Other ways to fund your travel
Consider whether you want to save for your trip with a NAB Reward Saver or NAB iSaver account. These will give you access to the Saving Spaces feature in the NAB app where you can easily set savings goals.
Other great options include paying for your holiday with a credit card or applying for a personal loan to fund your travels.
Depending on your circumstances, consider taking both a debit and a credit card to cover all your money needs while you’re away.
