Julie Rynski

Julie Rynski joined NAB in October 2017. She is a senior finance industry executive with more than 25 years’ experience in financial services and human resources. Julie has held a variety of senior leadership roles across Retail, Business Banking Projects and recently acted in the role of NAB Group Executive Group Chief People Officer. Julie’s current role is Executive, Business Regional & Agribusiness Australia.

Julie has a MBA from UNSW, a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and a Graduate Diploma in Australian Rural Leadership. She is also part of the Alumni of London Business School and IMD Lausanne Switzerland and has worked closely with The Big Issue. She has worked in Australia and the Pacific islands.

Khan Horne

 Khan joined NAB as a graduate in Gunnedah in 1992. He currently leads NSW North Regional & Agribusiness with approximately 250 bankers in 25 locations.

Khan was born and raised in Grafton and remains heavily involved in the family farm — a commercial Angus herd located in the Northern Rivers region of NSW. He’s passionate about regional Australia and the role agriculture plays in the economy.

 Khan has a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics from the University of Sydney and a Masters in Finance from the University of New England. He is a strong believer in tertiary and post graduate education for agricultural bankers. In his current role, Khan recruits around 30 graduates annually, predominantly with agricultural / economic and commerce degrees.

Naomi Stuart

Naomi joined NAB in October 2019 as Regional Customer Executive for the ACT and Southern NSW.

Naomi has over twenty years’ experience in the finance, investment and accounting industries. She began her career at PwC before returning to regional Australia where she has worked in both government and corporate. She has a passion for regional communities, agriculture and innovation and is actively involved in the family farming business.

Naomi holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney, a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance & Investment from FINSIA and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand.

John Avent

John is Regional Customer Executive for Business Regional & Agribusiness Queensland.  His team has approximately 150 bankers and associates located throughout regional Queensland. He is also a member of the State Leadership Council and the Regional & Agribusiness Leadership Team.

With over 25 years’ banking experience, John was previously based in Tokyo as the Regional Head Relationship Service with NAB Asia. He was responsible for teams across Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong.

John has held various leadership roles across business banking, credit risk and corporate and institutional banking.

Donald Jamieson

Donald has led the Tasmanian business since November 2018.  He oversees the business and agribusiness teams across Tasmania, helping them to deliver innovative solutions to the state’s varied industries. Prior to this role he was Managing Partner for Far North Queensland. 

Donald’s banking career has covered many commercial and business banking roles spanning the agricultural, property and diversified business sectors. 

Donald holds a Bachelor of Business in Banking, Finance and Accounting from the University of Southern Queensland, an Executive MBA from the University of the Sunshine Coast and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He also spent two years as an academic at the University of the Sunshine Coast where he lectured business in a Masters program.

Joe Paparella

Joe became Regional Customer Executive for SA / NT Regional and Agribusiness in July 2018. He is responsible for a team that spans regional South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Joe has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry in SA / NT, leading teams in retail banking, business banking and agribusiness banking.  

Joe enjoys building trusted relationships with customers and has a strong focus on the community sector. He has volunteered substantial time to support and work with organizations in this sector and is also a Justice of the Peace in South Australia.

Peter Steele

Peter Steele became Regional Customer Executive, Victoria Regional & Agribusiness for NAB in October 2018. He’s responsible for a team of over 150 customer focused business and agribusiness bankers throughout regional Victoria.

Peter began his career in Perth and has 35 years’ experience in the banking industry. He’s worked in four different states in various roles within different sectors of the banking industry including retail, corporate, commercial and agribusiness banking.

His experience has largely been in customer facing (relationship management), project management and people leadership roles.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Business from Edith Cowan University in Perth.

Jeff Pontifex

Jeff Pontifex became Regional Customer Executive of Regional and Agribusiness WA in January 2019 after an extensive financial services career with other financial intuitions.

He has a strong regional background. He grew up on a broadacre farm in the central wheatbelt and has lived and worked in many regional WA locations. Jeff has over 30 years’ financial services experience including corporate and middle market businesses. Through his vast and varied career he has gained significant insight into a range of industries including agribusiness, services to mining and oil and gas, advanced manufacturing, transport, importers and exporters.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Business, Accounting and Finance from Edith Cowan University and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
