Frequently asked questions

  • New customers

    You’ll need to have a NAB Business transaction account and access to NAB Connect (NAB’s online business banking platform). It’s easy to apply online for a NAB Business transaction account.

    You’ll need to:

    • Have an Australian Business Number (ABN) or Australian Company Number (ACN)
    • Make sure signatories to the account are over 18.

    Existing customers

    You can start sending money overseas straightaway when you log in to NAB Connect. If you’re not eligible for NAB Connect, you can also make international payments through NAB Internet Banking.

  • Your recipient should receive the money within 24 hours . You can view the tracking status of your payment along with other information via NAB Connect internet banking.

  • We charge a flat fee across all countries and currencies.

    International payment with currency conversion using NAB Connect: $0 per transaction

    International payment in AUD or from a NAB Foreign Currency Account in that same currency using NAB Connect: $20 per transaction

  • Overseas bank charges may also be payable and where possible, are clearly stated when completing your transfer. You can elect to pay overseas bank charges from your account, or deducted from the funds you send.

  • To receive an international money transfer into your NAB account, you need to give the sender these details:

    • Bank: National Australia Bank
    • BIC/SWIFT code: NATAAU3303M
    • BSB (bank, state, branch) and account number: Refer to your internet banking or account statements. Please check these carefully – in accordance with Australian industry standards, payments made to an account number may be paid to that account whether or not the name of the account matches.
    • Beneficiary name and address: Your full name (no initials) and street address (cannot be a post office box).

    Important:

    • Australian banks don't use IBANs.
    • Foreign Currency Accounts don't require a BSB. BSB 082-039 can be provided to the remitter if they request one.
