Name: Bryan Guinea
Your role: Head of Credit Optimisation and Workflow, Credit Enablement
Region: Melbourne, Victoria
What’s your story?
I joined NAB as a graduate back in 2003 and have had a mix of banker and risk roles in that time. It was almost inevitable that I would end up working at NAB given my Dad worked at the bank for 40 years and my wife was working for NAB when we met.
How have you made a difference?
The best part of my job is that I get to re-imagine existing processes to positively impact our customers, bankers and credit teams. I recently led work that has empowered our bankers to make easier and more impactful decisions for our customers. It focused on the banker making the lower risk decisions, that a customer expects them to be able to make, faster. They can now respond quickly to their customers’ needs without the fear of doing something wrong.
What are you passionate about?
Work-life balance and flexibility are both very important to me. Being able to work from home and work odd hours at times allows me to spend time with my family as well as follow my passion for fishing and golf.
