Name: Dong Jin
Your role: Associate Director, Securitisation Origination
Region: Melbourne, Victoria
What’s your story?
I joined NAB almost eight years ago as a Wholesale Banking graduate, ultimately landing a permanent role in the Securitisation team. Since then, NAB has given me the opportunity to work across New Zealand and Hong Kong in various different roles. After my international tour, I came back to Securitisation in Melbourne to start a family. Every day I am challenged, intellectually stimulated, motivated and entertained by the talented team I work in and the wonderful clients I work for.
How has NAB made a difference?
Coming from a family of academics, I have naturally always really enjoyed teaching. Fortunately, my job challenges me every day to teach the complex concepts of securitisation and debt markets to NAB’s clients, my colleagues and to university students as well. For NAB’s clients, the advice that I give them can equip them with the knowledge and skills to optimise how they fund their organisations. For my colleagues, it allows for us to work more collaboratively and efficiently. Lastly, for university students, it hopefully can encourage them toembark on a career in financial markets and hopefully with NAB.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about genuine relationships in both my professional and personal lives. I see my role of a banker as a trusted advisor to my clients. I hope that when any of my clients encounter any situations, I’m the first person they think to call.
