Name: Emmanuel Comermond
Your role: Analyst, Business Improvement
Region: Docklands, Victoria
What’s your story?
Born in Mauritius, I left home at the age of 19 to come to Perth so I could finish my tertiary studies. I eventually moved to Melbourne in 2012 to be with my girlfriend at the time (now my wife). I also started my career at NAB in 2012 as a contractor working afternoon shifts in a role that was advertised as ‘data entry’. Little did I know that this same role would open up so many learning and career opportunities for me. Within six months, I became a permanent employee in NAB’s Wealth Operations team, and this is where my passion for business improvement started.
How have you made a difference?
Since joining NAB I have tried to give back to the company as much time and effort as people have invested in me. Lately, according to my leaders, I have made a difference by truly living NAB’s values whilst being a voice for our customers and for our people who work in an environment of everchanging processes and rules. It is also an environment where we can easily access feedback from our customers and staff, and I am honoured to be part of a group of NAB employees whose job it is to help eliminate poor customer outcomes, and to reshape our processes for increased efficiency so that our people can deliver a better customer experience.
What are you passionate about?
I’m very curious. I enjoy trying new things and making improvements (be it business, technological or personal) to make life simpler. My job at NAB allows me to do all these things and I am forever grateful for this. Outside of work, I have been supporting my wife while she completed her medical studies, for which she is now graduating as a doctor – #proudhusband. We are both passionate about personal self-improvement and becoming better people. We recently rescued a Great Dane puppy and we love spoiling her.
