Meet Gemma

Name: Gemma Lawson

Your role: Senior Specialised Banking Manager, Transactional Banking

Region: Perth, Western Australia

What’s your story?

I joined NAB in the UK in July 2007 the day after I graduated with a Degree in International Business and French. After starting my career within the Business Markets team, I was offered a role within NAB Australia in 2012 (firstly Melbourne, now Perth) and have worked in Transactional Banking for almost five years.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with some great people and have had some amazing opportunities. The highlight of my time at NAB so far was attending NAB Honour last year. I’m grateful for the opportunities given to me at NAB and am lucky to have a role that I really enjoy.

How have you made a difference?

My role as Senior Specialised Banking Manager within Transactional Banking is to proactively secure and develop new and existing banking relationships. I work in partnership with clients to streamline their payment processes and improve efficiencies within their business, as well as providing market insights and changes within the payments industry. I love building relationships with our SME customers and working with them to solve problems within their business. I always put the customer at the centre of what I do and enjoy working with all stakeholders to deliver the best of NAB to our customers.

What are you passionate about?

At work I’m passionate about proving the best customer experience and delivering. I’m also a past president and current member of NAB Toastmasters Perth.

My passions outside of work are food, wine and exercise. I’m also excited (and nervous) about becoming a first time mum in a few months.
