What’s your story?
I grew up in Malinga, a village of two hundred people, on a small island in the Indian Ocean-Mauritius. The street I used to live in was named after my family and the people in the village were all relatives. I had an incredible childhood, but at the age 15, I lost my dad unexpectedly, leaving my family nearly homeless. Whilst this was a difficult time in my life, it was also a turning point and helped shape who I am today. Instead of dwelling on the tragedy and hardship, I used it as motivation to aim big in life. With the support of my mother and only sister, I went to England to further my education. I then pursued a career in digital, which lead me to various cities including London, Port Louis, Perth, Darwin and Melbourne. I’m now married to my awesome wife, Vintee, who is always supporting me and my crazy ideas. We recently became parents of a daughter, Mishka.
How have you made a difference?
My curiosity, creativeness, willing to learn from others and collaborate; combined with my desire to make sure that our customers are at the heart of everything we do, has contributed to me making a difference. I’m lucky to have worked with some amazing people including my people leader who is always supporting me in bringing the ideas we have to life. All these factors make it possible to make a difference, and easy to come to work and give my best.
What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about self-development and learning. This has led me to develop skills and interests in a wide number of areas including: technology, business (MBA), digital marketing and analytics, cooking, science, kickboxing, strength training, spin classes and most recently becoming a qualified fitness personal trainer. So if you need some tips, please come say hello!
