If you’ve been affected by the recent NSW bushfires, the NAB Assist financial relief specialists will be available at NAB’s Batemans Bay and Bega Branches on Tuesday 28th January through to Friday 31st January, to assist customers impacted. NAB can support customers to manage their existing bank facilities, temporarily suspend loan repayments, or even waive fees and charges. Customers affected by nation wide bushfires
On 7 January 2020, NAB announced a $5 million Disaster Relief Fund to help people affected by bushfires across Australia. This is an extension of the $1 million contribution announced on 3 January 2020. $2,000 emergency grants are available for customers who have lost their homes or suffered significant damage to their business. On 27 December 2019, NAB confirmed a $100,000 community disaster relief donation package. NAB’s team in South Australia will donate $50,000 to local charities supporting relief and recovery efforts in the region. In addition, $50,000 will be donated to Australian Red Cross for its ongoing emergency work, and Australians will be able to make a donation at any NAB branch across Australia or by logging into NAB Internet banking (select: Funds Transfer » Donation » Charity » Australian Red Cross).
Customers affected by bushfires in NSW & QLD
On 15 November 2019, NAB confirmed a $150,000 Community Disaster Relief Package. The package is made up of $50,000 that will be made available to NAB bankers in the communities impacted to provide to local charities as recovery continues in the months ahead. A further $50,000 donation will be made to Australian Red Cross for its ongoing emergency work. In addition to this donation, the bank will match up to $50,000 of customer and employee donations to the Australian Red Cross through branches and online banking. Some of our customers live in areas which are highly exposed to the impacts of extreme weather events, flood and drought and other natural disasters such as earthquakes and bushfires.
We believe in supporting our customers and communities, both in the immediate aftermath of a natural disaster and on the road to recovery. We provide support and relieve financial stress when natural disaster strikes and we help communities with grants, fundraising appeals and volunteering.
What do we do?
We know that picking up the pieces is never easy. And natural disasters and crises can leave you with unexpected financial stress.
- Customers who need help with their finances can visit their nearest open NAB branch, contact their banker directly or call NAB Assist on 1800 701 599 (8am-8pm Mon-Fri, or 9am-1pm on Saturdays AEST/AEDT).
- Small business that need help, call the Small Business Bushfire Financial Support Line on 1800 413 828.

- NAB EFTPOS and HICAPS merchants that need help can call the Merchant Support Helpdesk on 1300 369 852 (between 7am-7pm AEST).
