What's the required payment?

Required payment is the minimum payment. It includes your monthly payment and any past due or overlimit amounts. It's accurate as at the last business day.

This is the amount you need to pay by the due date in order to avoid a late payment fee and meet the terms and conditions of your account.

Current balance is the amount you currently owe on this credit card.

Statement closing balance is the amount you need to pay each month by your due date to avoid interest on purchases. This amount is accurate as at your statement date.

Pay your credit card using the NAB app

Using the NAB app is a quick and easy way of making credit card repayments.

  1. Log into the NAB app.
  2. Select your credit card to view the transaction history and review your purchases.
  3. Tap on the Pay button at the top of the screen, then select To your card.
  4. Select the transaction account you want to pay your credit card from.
  5. Select your preferred option (required payment, current balance, statement closing balance or other amount) or if the payment is being made outside a statement period, simply enter the amount you wish to pay.
  6. Tap Next.
  7. Confirm the details and tap Pay now.

Pay your credit card using internet banking

  1. Login to NAB Internet Banking.
  2. Select Transfer & Pay from the action menu (…) for the transaction account you wish to pay from.
  3. Select the credit card account you wish to pay.
  4. Enter the amount you wish to pay and the description.
  5. Click Next and confirm the payment details.

Pay your credit card using telephone banking

You can make a credit card repayment by calling 13 22 65, 24 hours a day, seven days a week – calls from mobile phones are charged at applicable rates.

Set up a direct debit to pay your credit card

Setting up a direct debit through the NAB app or NAB Internet Banking takes the hassle out of making repayments.

Once you’ve set this up, you’ll see NAB Card Autopay showing in your chosen transaction account listing.

NAB Internet Banking

  1. Login to NAB Internet Banking (from your desktop).
  2. Open Accounts and select Account details.
  3. Select your credit card.
  4. Click Create or modify Direct Debit.
  5. Follow the prompts to complete the form.

The NAB app

  1. Login to the NAB app.
  2. Open Cards and select your credit card.
  3. Scroll down to Repayment details.
  4. Tap Manage automatic payments.
  5. Follow the prompts to complete the form.

Visit a NAB branch to make a payment

Visit your closest branch to make a repayment in person.

Make a payment at Australia Post

You can make a repayment at any Australia Post outlet that displays the Bank@PostTM, opens in new window sign. You'll need your credit card and PIN.

We no longer accept cheques via post for credit card payments.

Paying your credit card from a non-NAB account

If you don't have a NAB transaction or savings account, here are some ways you can repay your NAB credit card.

Set up a direct debit from your non-NAB account

Setting up a direct debit through the NAB app or paper form takes the hassle out of making repayments. Once you’ve set this up, you’ll see “NAB Card Autopay” showing in your chosen transaction account listing.

Use the NAB app

  1. Log into the NAB app.
  2. Open Cards and select your credit card.
  3. Scroll to Repayment details.
  4. Select Manage automatic payments.
  5. Select Other account.
  6. Follow the prompts to complete the form.

Use the paper form

  1. Open and print the Direct debit request form (PDF, 239KB), opens in new window
  2. Complete and sign the form.
  3. Return it to NAB.

Use BPAY® to make a payment

You can use BPAY® if you don’t have a NAB account.

  • Biller code: 1008
  • Customer reference number: your credit card number.

Allow 2 business days for BPAY payments to be credited.

To help you remember the due dates for paying your credit card statements, we send proactive SMS reminders to eligible account owners (primary card holders). If you’re eligible to receive these reminders we’ll use the mobile number we have for you, unless you’ve opted out of receiving these messages. Alternatively, you can set up reminders via NAB Alerts within NAB Internet Banking, as above.

Reminders are not a substitute for checking payment due dates and your statements.

You can also stay on top of your payments by setting up a direct debit through the NAB app or NAB Internet Banking.
