If you’re an existing NAB customer, save time by using your NAB ID to:

  • pre-fill personal details
  • pre-fill NAB financial details.

If you’re a new customer and don’t have a NAB ID you can still apply online.

 

Have these items ready

There’s no need to upload any documents in the application form, but we may ask you for them later in the process.

  • Your NAB ID (located on the back of your NAB card or in your NAB app through My Details).

  • Driver’s licence number (if you have one).

  • Employment details for the past three years.

  • Your financial information, including income, expenses, assets and debts.

     

Eligibility Check you're eligible to apply online

  • You're 18 years or older.

  • You're applying on your own. Joint applicants can apply in person at your nearest branch.

  • You're receiving a regular income.
     

Eligible residency status

You're eligible to apply online if:

  • you're an Australian or New Zealand citizen

  • an Australian Permanent Resident, or

  • a non-resident holding an acceptable Temporary Residency visa.

The following visa categories are not acceptable

  • Visitor visa (exception, a Special Category visa - NZ Citizen is acceptable)

  • Working Holiday visa

  • Student, Exchange or Gap Year visa

  • Transit, Short Stay or Seasonal visa

  • Bridging visa.
     

Getting started How to apply for a NAB Personal Loan

Applying online is quick and easy.

  1. Complete and submit your application and get a decision within 60 seconds. If conditionally approved, you'll receive an indicative interest rate and repayment amount.

  2. We’ll review and verify the information. Depending on your circumstances, we may do other checks and contact you for further information.

  3. If approved we’ll give you your final interest rate and repayment amount. You can accept your offer electronically through NAB Internet Banking.

  4. We’ll transfer the money into your most frequently used NAB account on the day that you accept the offer. If you’re not currently a NAB customer, we’ll contact you to organise the transfer.
