Cecilia has loved her time at NAB and is an advocate for the difference banking can have on people's lives.
Name: Ahmad Asker
Your role: Senior Associate, Finance
Region: Melbourne, Victoria
What’s your story?
I was born in the Middle East and my parents relocated to New Zealand when I was five years old. In the last few years, I have come to grasp just how courageous and bold my parents were to leave their families behind and migrate to the other side of the world in order to provide a better life for my sister and me.
After completing a commerce and property conjoint, I worked at Ernst and Young and Westpac.. I embarked on an overseas experience through Asia and Europe and worked in London for a year before relocating to Melbourne and joining NAB over a year ago.
How have you made a difference?
I have made an impact on the quality and timeliness of our reporting in client coverage. I constantly review and challenge the month-end reporting process, which has helped make reporting simpler and faster. I am passionate about being bold and challenging the status quo to ensure we deliver real value to the business. I continuously look to develop new reporting to provide insight to senior stakeholders, most recently with the executive dashboards which focus on infrastructure and financial institutions reporting which are key focus areas for our division.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about travel. Getting amongst the local people, their culture and cuisine is a very humbling experience when travelling. I am a big Manchester United fan even though it has been painful of late.
