What’s your story?

I grew up in a suburb calling Three Springs, a small country town three and a half hours north of Perth. My family are fourth generation beef and wheat farmers. To this day I credit the values that I was raised with to foster my desire to be involved with farming and my community spirit.

After travelling and working through Europe and the United Kingdom for two years, I returned to Three Springs and met my husband, Kevin. We have two beautiful daughters, Caitlin who is 24 and Messina who is 21.

There is only one bank in Three Springs and it’s NAB. I started with the bank 27 years ago and I’m proud to say that I’m still working with this great organisation. Over my time here, I have seen plenty of changes, whether it be changes to branch uniforms or bank statements being sent to the branch and then being sent to customers directly in the post.

Now living in Perth, I am based at our Morley branch and I am lucky to work with such a great team! I’m grateful that our family move to Perth has given me great opportunities to develop and grow in my career. In 2016, I was involved with the MIG Squad. It was fantastic to get out and meet other staff members in our area and provide customers with smarter options to do their banking. At country branches everyone knows everyone and there is always such community spirit.

How have you made a difference?

I feel the difference I have made at NAB is being the first person a customer sees as soon as they walk into our branch. To engage with a customer is vital! Smiling and using their name makes a world of difference. I connect with the NAB values and keep these in mind in everything that I do. Our NPS score for our branch has increased from 24+ to 53+ and it is awesome to know that we have so many happy customers.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about life! I never take anything for granted because it can all change in a heartbeat. I always look for the good in a situation. A customer once told me that "life is a gift" and I couldn’t agree more. He had been given 10 days to live and two years later he is still with us, thank goodness. I am passionate about my beautiful family and the amazing friends that I have, as well as being surrounded by our animals who always provide unconditional love. My favourite quote is, “life is not about avoiding the storm but learning to dance in the rain!"
