Meet Daniel

Name: Daniel Farrell

Your role: Strategic Dealer, Markets, Corporate & Institutional Banking

Region: Sydney, New South Wales

What’s your story?

I was born in Sydney and studied Agricultural Economics at Sydney University. In my final year of study, I launched a small finance business which was an amazing experience and taught me some lifelong lessons, particularly the importance of hard work and resilience. An opportunity arose to try a few different career paths, and this led to me to NAB on the Wholesale Banking Graduate Program in 2011. My second graduate rotation was in financial markets and by the end of my first day on the trading floor I knew I was hooked.

How have you made a difference?

Through my work as an interest rate dealer, I try to make a difference for our clients by providing them all the information they need to make the best decision for their business in regards to managing interest rate risk.

I also love that NAB encourages employees to take volunteer leave. I utilise these days to try and make a difference at two charities, the Red Cross (I’m regular blood donor) and the Schizophrenia Research Institute.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about spending time with family and close friends. The more time I spend with these wonderful people, the better they make me as a person. I am also getting into my surfing, but that is very much a work in progress!
