What’s your story?

My NAB story started nearly 20 years ago when I was looking for a part-time job to return to work after my second child was born. NAB offered me a role in Lending Services at the time and when I pointed out I was only looking part-time their response was, “No problem – we will find you a job-share partner”. It was 1999 so this was extraordinary at the time but the team made it sound so easy and they executed on their promises. They found me a great job-share partner and we worked together as a team for the next eight years developing through numerous roles in NAB. What a privilege! Then in 2004, still working part-time, I asked NAB if they would back me in studying a Business Degree – and they did! Seven years ago I was offered a chance to work in a customer facing role within Small Business and haven’t looked back. Today I’m a Senior Business Banking Manager in Brisbane and loving every minute!

How have you made a difference?

My passion to deliver the best customer experience means I am vocal! If something doesn’t make sense – I’ll ask why. If someone affects our customer’s experience and doesn’t take ownership – I will be respectful but hold them to account. If there is an opportunity for NAB to support a customer I am asking for that chance. I am always looking through our customers’ lens. It can be difficult sometimes, especially when we balance it with organisational, compliance and shareholder expectations – but it is important to do the right thing and back the bold.

What are you passionate about?

I’m passionate about delivering on our customer expectations and enabling others to do the same. Backing our customers and being bold, doing the right thing, and respecting others are some of our values that I’m passionate about to help deliver on these expectations both for our customers and my colleagues. I love what I do and this helps me be an active coach and mentor, and to challenge myself to add value in some form to those around me every day.
