What’s your story?

I am 44 years old and have lived more than half of my life in Newcastle. Growing up, my Dad was in the Royal Australian Air Force so we travelled around the country a fair bit before settling in Newcastle. After high school, I completed my diploma in accounting and then ‘fell’ into banking. My sister worked for a bank at the time and referred me for a role. I was 19 at the time and have since spent the last 24 years working in retail banking. Outside of work I am a proud husband and father to four beautiful children. We have an onsite caravan up at Fingal Bay and love creating great family memories up there. I still play soccer (albeit poorly) but mostly just enjoy a beer with the boys after the game.

How have you made a difference?

I have been with NAB for the last nine years and have loved my time here. I started as a Branch Manager, then quickly moved to a Regional Operations Manager role. For the last five years I’ve had the privilege of being a Retail Customer Executive (RCE) which I have particularly enjoyed. I’ve been very fortunate to have worked with so many talented people and have watched and supported many others grow in their careers. I also enjoy leading a team who are so often helping our customers’ goals become a reality.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about doing the right thing, not taking myself or life too seriously, seeing my people develop and grow, and most importantly my family. I really believe in being the best you can be and trying to inspire others to do the same. My family is at the heart of what I do and they are my inspiration.
