Name: Lisa Bui
Your role: Associate, Social Media Command Centre
Region: Docklands, Victoria
What’s your story?
Growing up, I was the only child until not so recently (13 years ago), when my family decided to have another two boys. This really helped me grow and has shaped me into who I am today. In a short time, I learnt to be more compassionate, to take charge when required and to be highly resilient.
At that time, I really needed to step up – which lead me to NAB. NAB gave me an opportunity eight years ago. First, I worked in front lines roles while I studied at university and then eventually became one of the first people to work in social media at NAB.
How have you made a difference?
Sometimes businesses don’t understand social media or realise the benefits and positive impact that it can have on their business. Over the last year or so, I have helped over 1,000 small to medium size businesses realise the potential of social media through hosting tours of the Social Media Command Centre at NAB. My advice has helped them shape their strategy and improve their online presence.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about helping businesses with their online presence, creating content that matters and having the analytics to measure the impact. I am really lucky to be working in a role that I am passionate about. Other than social media, I am definitely a thrill seeker. I enjoy long complex hikes, snowboarding and bike riding.
