Working in the Corporate Responsibility team, Kawashi is focused on making a difference.
Name: Lisa Wade
Your role: Director, Product and Channel Development
Region: Docklands, Victoria
What’s your story?
I have over 25 years Finance experience, mostly in equities and funds managementand in the last 12 years, I’ve specialised in “Sustainable” and “Impact” Investment. I joined NAB 15 months ago to be the Director of Product and Channel Development and haven’t looked back since. I am also proud to be the Chairman of the NSW Pride Committee and on the National Pride Committee.
How has NAB made a difference?
Firstly and most proudly, I was part of the pride@NAB team that joined forces with the brand team to create the Rainbow Star pin and rework the pride branding. We also dressed the NAB Oxford Street branch for Mardi Gras for the first time in the bank’s history.
In my day job, I was part of the team that created the Phoenix Master Trust Platform with a few up and running pilots. The most significant to me is the Low Carbon shared Portfolio, which is soon to be a world first climate rated direct loan instrument akin to our Green bond effort, with David Jenkins playing a huge part in this. I believe with all of the digital disruption out there, off balance sheet structures play a huge role not only in banking but in allowing Superannuation fund money to be depolyed into quality assets and banking has a huge role to play in this.
What are you passionate about?
I am most passionate about Australians being able to align their values to their investments, without compromising returns, and the role digital and block chain has to play in this. Also close to my heart is my passion for Yoga. I am a Level 4 Certified Baptiste Yoga teacher, and I run content behind the scenes for the Africa Yoga project for two weeks per year over Easter.
