Meet Maddy

Name: Maddy Basu

Your role: Consultant, Risk Skills

Region: Docklands, Victoria

What’s your story?

Originally from India, I’ve lived in Australia for the last 15 years. I studied Psychology and Human Resource Management at university before starting my career in HR. Since then, I have worked in a number of areas including business improvement, project management and most recently, learning and development.

I’d describe myself as a problem solver with an eye for creative solutions.

How have you made a difference?

When my manager and team mates started asking questions about the efficiency of parts of our eLearning, I knew there was a better way we could design it. I backed our bold idea by helping to design a new solution that not only ensured our people had the right knowledge, but also reduced the time it took to complete the training by over an hour – this meant more time for our people to spend with our customers!

What are you passionate about?

I’m passionate about learning, there’s a great reward for being able to take complex information and share it in a way that’s easy for others to understand. Outside of work, I get my geek on with puzzles and escape rooms; I can’t help but solve problems!
