What’s your story?
Alongside my role at NAB, I also serve in the Army reserves. It’s part time and I’m lucky that NAB is highly supportive with strong defence support policies. It’s helped develop me as a person, as well as offer unique opportunities both in Australia and abroad.
How have you made a difference?
In 2016, the Australian government sent 50 members of the ADF to support the French ANZAC day commemorations, where we spent two weeks across Paris, Northern France and Belgium. There were many rehearsals and military burials. The culminating activity was the 14th July - Bastille Day - where we marched from the Arc de Triomphe down the Champs-Élysées. With jets flying overheard, we saluted the French president – an unforgettable experience.
Activities like this are important for national relations, and I’m proud to have represented Australia in developing our relationship with France. And it was great fun too!
What are you passionate about?
We have an 18 month old son who’s great fun to play with and impart our ‘wisdom’. When I’m not parenting, I love a good motorbike ride. For those who don’t ride, imagine you could fly… but since we can’t fly, it’s the closest alternative. Be safe, and you’ll have fun.
