What’s your story?
I joined UBank in 2011 as a Customer Service Representative with plans to earn some extra cash while completing my Bachelor of Commerce. I initially planned to work at UBank for a year and then look for other opportunities. Seven years later and I am still working for UBank, but am I’m now in the Digital team – and I’m still enjoying each day as much as my first! The opportunities that have presented themselves have been a key driver as to why I am still here, and I am continually challenged every day. Moving from Customer Service to Digital has been extremely exciting as I am seeing firsthand how we can use technology to better help our customers.
How have you made a difference?
At UBank, we place the customer at the centre of everything we do and it’s important to do what is right by them. We could develop the most advanced software in the world, however we always need to focus on what customer problem the solution is solving. It is extremely rewarding to see customers using the products we have both developed and improved in their everyday lives. With every step of developing and releasing new features for our customers, our aim remains to improve the lives of Australians.
What are you passionate about?
Basketball would be the short answer, especially the NBA. The little intricacies of the sport and the planning and coordination that goes into each game is amazing to watch. It is beautiful to see the execution of the play drawn up. You also can see the raw emotion and passion that the players express on the court. It is this passion and love of the game that initially drew me in, not to mention the occasional dunk or two!
