Why follow this guide?

  • To protect your business and ensure that not only one person can perform activities such as create and authorise a payment or make updates to your profile.
  • To reduce the risk of fraud.
  • For auditing purposes to see who created, authorised or amended a payment and/or beneficiary and identify who approved a payment limit breach.

Standard security features

The below features come with a standard NAB Connect account.

Secure access

To access NAB Connect you’ll use a unique 10-digit user identification number to login. To protect your account information, after 30 minutes of inactivity you’ll be logged out of NAB Connect.

Please note, NAB will never call and ask you to share a code or password.

Encryption

NAB Connect uses TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption technology to protect your information. For maximum protection, we recommend you keep your browser up to date.

User activity reports

You can request user activity reports for details about:

  • user access, including the date and time each user logged in
  • transaction details, including who created, authorised and edited each payment.

To request a copy of these reports, contact the NAB Connect Client Centre on 1300 888 413.

Daily payment limits

NAB Connect lets you establish payment limits that you can customise to suit your business and risk profile. You can set daily payment limits as an overall value, customise values by specific payment types and change the set daily payment limits at any time.

To protect your business, payments that exceed your limit need approval by your nominated Authorising Users in addition to your normal payment authorisation requirements.

Digital signing for high-value payments

Payments over $500,000 need additional steps for authorisation, including a digital signature.

Security devices

Provides each NAB Connect Authorising User and Administrator in your business a mobile or physical token to generate unique one-time passcode for logging in, creating and approving transactions.

Optional security features

The below features are optional and are available upon request.

Segregation of duties

NAB Connect allows you to segregate banking duties across your business. This control lets you enforce the need for a transaction to be created and approved by separate people in your business.

Dual authorisation

You can set up payment authorisations so each transaction must be approved by two or more people in your business. You can also set different authorisation requirements for transactions of different sizes.

Customisable access and viewing rights

Easily manage the access to NAB Connect of third parties, such as your accountant or bookkeeper. You can customise viewing rights for each of your linked business accounts to help ensure only authorised people see sensitive financial information.

You can also customise access rights for each service. For example, you can limit access to confidential payroll information.

NAB’s free six month anti-virus offer for customers

We strongly recommend that all your computers have up-to-date security software. You can update your security software with our offer of 6 months’ free anti-virus software.
