NAB Chief Economist Dr Sally Auld on the latest inflation figures
Australia’s latest inflation figures came in below expectations, potentially easing pressure on the Reserve Bank ahead of its next interest rate decision. The Consumer Price Index rose 3.8% in the 12 months to June, down from 4% in May.
While the result may provide some relief for policymakers, economists caution that inflation risks remain, particularly amid ongoing global uncertainty.
In this Radio National interview, NAB Chief Economist Sally Auld discusses what the latest data could mean for interest rates, households and the economic outlook.
