Wholesale investing with NAB Private Wealth

Become a wholesale investor and gain a strategic advantage by unlocking a world of exclusive investment opportunities, insights and specialist support. We’ll help you navigate the nuances of the investment landscape with greater flexibility, sophistication and confidence, ultimately optimising your wealth accumulation potential.

Benefits of being a wholesale investor

Access to a diverse asset universe

Wholesale investors enjoy the privilege of exploring a broad range of options that are often off-limits to the average investor (also known as a retail investor). This includes unlisted fixed income and tailored alternative investments across a variety of asset classes, which can significantly diversify your portfolio.

Access to specialist expertise

Engage with dedicated, experienced investment specialists who have expert knowledge across all major asset classes. Their unique insights into what Australian investors need and how to access the right opportunities will help you shape your investment plans.

Deeper market insight

Receive information and market insights that are not widely available. This allows you to make more informed decisions, stay ahead of market trends and seize opportunities others might miss.

Risk management

Wholesale investors can spread their capital across a wider range of assets, enabling greater diversification to enhance returns. They can also utilise hedging strategies to reduce risk.

Considerations for a wholesale investor

Becoming a wholesale investor may be appropriate if you’re an experienced investor and can make informed decisions. Wholesale investors generally need to be able to assess the risks involved in financial transactions because the advice process and compliance obligations differ significantly. It is important you understand the difference between being classified as a wholesale investor and a retail client.

Product Disclosures

Wholesale clients are not required to receive a Financial Services Guide (FSG), Statement of Advice (SOA) or Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) from their advisor, whereas retail clients must be provided with these documents.

Consumer Protection

Compared to retail clients, wholesale investors are generally not provided with the same level of consumer protection, as set out in the Future of Financial Advice (FOFA) Reforms.

Access exclusive investment opportunities

As a wholesale investor, you’ll have the flexibility to create custom investment strategies that align with your financial goals and risk tolerance. This ensures a tailored approach to wealth management that is uniquely yours.
