Eligibility for our grad program
You’ll need to make sure you meet the following requirements.
Citizenship and visa requirements
You’ll need to be an Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or be an Australian permanent resident at the time of applying for the program. Temporary visa holders are not eligible for the program.
Tertiary education requirements
You’ll need to have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the past three years (i.e. 2022, 2023 or 2024) or be due to complete it by the end of January 2025.
We’ve designed our application process with you in mind. Our approach is centred on providing you with every opportunity to share your best and authentic self.
Accessible to all
We’re committed to giving our applicants the chance to pursue roles on a level playing field by removing barriers that people with a disability may face. If you think there are any reasonable adjustments we can make to the recruitment process ( or the role), so you can participate fairly, please email us. You can also find out more about accessibility at NAB.
Application form and required documents
- You’ll need to complete the , opens in new windowapplication form, opens in new window. This is where you’ll get the chance to tell us about who you are, your skills and experience. You’ll also nominate your chosen business area.
- Do your research. Understand the business area you’ve applied for and why you’re interested in a career at NAB. You can’t change your mind after submitting your application, so please choose carefully.
- You’ll need to upload your most recent academic transcript (if you’ve completed postgraduate studies, you’ll need to upload a copy of your undergrad and postgrad results). We don’t look at your GPA/WAM, your transcript is a useful reference to confirm degree discipline or major.
Once we’ve had a look at your application, if you meet our eligibility criteria, we’ll invite you to complete online assessment. We’ll keep in touch throughout the selection process to let you know how your application is tracking. Make sure you give us the email you most regularly use.
You can take the online assessment at home or anywhere you have online access.
The online assessment will consist of:
- personality assessment
- verbal reasoning
- numerical reasoning
- logical reasoning.
When completing your online assessment make sure you’re free from distraction and have good internet connection. Read the questions carefully and if you’re unfamiliar with these types of assessments try some practice questions beforehand.
If you’re successful in the online assessment, you’ll move onto the next stage – video interviews.
This stage gives us a deeper understanding of who you are and provides a great opportunity for you to share a little bit about yourself with us.
Once you log onto our secure site, you’ll be asked a few questions and you’ll need to record your responses. You can do this at any time, and anywhere you feel comfortable.
Prepare for your Video Interview by thinking about the various school, work, and life experiences you can draw on. Think about how you can make your experience relevant to the role you’re applying for.
The final stage of the recruitment process is our Engagement Centre. You’ll have the opportunity to demonstrate your skills by participating in a range of interactive activities. You’ll also be able to meet past graduates and business leaders and find out more about the graduate program.
Our Engagement Centres are usually held in May/June. We'll keep you updated once dates are finalised.
Engagement Centres are held by business area and via Zoom.
To prepare for this final stage of the selection process, engage in mock interviews with family or friends. Have them ask you questions and provide constructive feedback. Familiarise yourself with a Behavioural Based Interview process. Typically, during these types of interviews, you’ll be asked to provide examples of past employment or specific situations and discuss how you behaved in those circumstances.
Getting an offer
If you're successful, we'll call you a few days after your Engagement Centre with the news.
It’s important to note that relocation to participate in the graduate program is self-funded.
