Name: Katie Steicke
Your role: Lead, Business Lending Assessment
Region: Adelaide, South Australia
What’s your story?
I started at NAB in July 2016 after a 20 year career at another financier. Prior to starting at the bank, I spent six months in Vietnam reflecting on what I would like to achieve in my career. I realised I wanted to lead a high performing team with a good culture and I am grateful to NAB for providing me with that opportunity.
How have you made a difference?
Through my involvement on the South Australian State Leadership Council, Chairing the South Australian and Northern Territory Connecting Women, and leading my Fulfilment team I get to mentor and support fellow NAB employees achieve their personal goals. It is a great feeling to know that I am a role model for our next generation of leaders. I am particularly driven to empower our female team members to recognise their worth, talent and skills and further progress in their careers. I love working in Fulfilment because it allows me to recruit employees and help them get started at NAB, something I find very rewarding.
What are you passionate about?
To balance my work life I like to stay active and involved in the community by coaching netball. My health and wellbeing is important to me so each year I take the opportunity to travel in order to learn from different cultures. I am also an avid AFL supporter and love nothing more than cheering on the Adelaide Crows!
