A bit about NAB Pride

NAB Pride is a support and advocacy group for our LGBTI+ employees and people everywhere. It's our job to nurture a safe and inclusive workplace that celebrates the diversity of our people and empowers them to be a voice in the community.

What we do

In short, we're working to shift the conversation beyond inclusion and move towards advocacy for the LGBTI+ community.

Our recent work has been around education about underrepresented groups in the LGBTI+ community – in particular, those who identify as bisexual, transgender or intersex. We’re also empowering LGBTI+ communities in rural areas and strengthening the support of allies.

We run seminars, online learning and awareness sessions for employees.

We're actively involved with big days on the LGBTI+ calendar and we regularly host networking events that are open to our members and the wider public.

We help other organisations connect with LGBTI+ networks in business and the broader community.

In the community

We're members of Pride In Diversity, opens in new window – Australia's only not-for-profit workplace program that supports Australian employers with LGBTI+ inclusion.

We're proud partners of Midsumma Festival, Pride Cup and the GLOBE (Gay and Lesbian Organisation of Business and Enterprise) Australia.

The Loud and Proud Project podcast

The Loud and Proud Project is a podcast that explores what it means to bring your whole self to work for LGBTI+ people and why it matters. In Season 1 we talk to some of our LGBTI+ colleagues and their allies about their experience of being out in the workplace.

We’re honoured that our colleagues shared these experiences with us, and now with all of you.

You can find the Loud and Proud Project on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and Spotify, opens in new window.

Where you’ll see us

We love getting out and about in the community. While the list is always growing, these are just some of the other key events that we're proud to be part of each year.

International Transgender Day of Visibility

Held on 31 March every year, this event celebrates transgender people and raises awareness about the discrimination they face around the world.

For the event in 2018 we released an educational video delivered by two transgender NAB employees.

The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia is held on 17 May each year.

The theme in 2018 was ‘myth busting’, and we held informative discussions with panellists representing LGBTI+ groups.

Wear it Purple Day

This is an important day for LGBTI+ youth. We encourage our employees to show their support by wearing purple and donating money. We also set up installations at our NAB offices.

NAB Pride Month

The inaugural NAB Pride Day was held in November 2018 and encourages employees to celebrate gender and sexual diversity at NAB.

World AIDS Day

On December 1 each year we encourage employees to volunteer, make donations and get involved in raising awareness across the organisation about the issues surrounding HIV and AIDS.

We’ve been busy over the years

While we're always looking for ways to broaden our impact, we're proud of the work we've done so far.
