With NAB Gateway, you have two ways to take customer payments online:

Take payments through your website

Flexibility to choose how NAB Gateway integrates with your website:

  • connect with a range of shopping cart providers including Shopify and WooCommerce, so you can get up and running quickly and securely.

  • integrate a unified checkout payment component, allowing customers to click and pay instantly.

  • with Flex Microform you can choose from a range of payment fields to include on your website.

Take payments virtually

You don’t need a website to take payments quickly and securely. Log into the NAB Gateway portal to:

  • use the Virtual Terminal to manually enter payments into the inbuilt payments page for mail, fax or phone orders. You can customise your payment fields to suit your business.

  • set up recurring billing to automate regular payments so you know when the money is going to settle into your account, it’s great for cashflow.

  • make batch payments in one go, saving you time, reducing the risk of mistakes and making reconciliations easier.

The application process

Step 1

Check your eligibility

  • You have an active ABN.
  • You're the business owner, director of an Australian private company, or an office holder for a not-for-profit, community club or community organisation.
  • You've not had a merchant facility terminated by an Australian financial institution with the last 12 months.
  • Check with your website provider to confirm that your website is compatible.

Your website will need to include the following information:

  • Your business name (and ABN as applicable).
  • The address of your place of business in Australia (not a PO Box).
  • Your business contact details, including telephone and email address.
  • Clear descriptions of the products and/or services being offered to customers, including price in relevant currency.
  • Your refund exchange policy, including the process for cancellation of a transaction by a cardholder.
  • Your delivery timeframe for goods and services.
  • Details of any Australian export restrictions (if applicable).
  • Your privacy policy and how you intend to deal with, or share, personal information obtained from and about the cardholder.
  • A description of the measures you have in place to maintain the security of cardholder's account data.
