Group Executive, Corporate and Institutional Banking
David is a member of NAB’s Executive Leadership Team. He was appointed as Group Executive - Corporate and Institutional Bank in October 2018. Before this, David was NAB’s Chief Risk Officer for four years.
In a career spanning over thirty years, David has extensive experience across banking and financial services. He has proudly led large teams across all banking customer-facing functions, including retail, business (small and medium enterprises) and corporate clients.
David is passionate about backing Australian business. It is his core focus to bring the best of NAB to customers, helping them to grow and prosper and contribute to both the growth of the Australian economy and to their local communities.
David has a strong affinity for Australia's farmers and regional businesses, having grown up on a sheep farm in Victoria. He continues to be involved in prime lamb production in his spare time.
David is an advocate for increasing the professionalism of bankers at all levels within the industry and is currently undertaking the FINSIA Chartered Banker certification. As Executive Sponsor of Gender Balance at NAB, he is passionate about supporting diversity and inclusion. He enjoys mentoring talented colleagues at NAB, providing practical leadership advice to help them achieve their full potential.
He is a Board member of the European Australian Business Council (EABC) and a previous President and Board member of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA) and FINSIA Education. David holds a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Business and Master of Business Administration (Exec) and is a Senior Fellow of FINSIA.
David is married to Georgie and they have three children.
