NAB adds appointments to branches - NAB

Improved access through booking system

  • NAB to become the first major Australian bank to offer everyday banking appointments.

  • New service launching in March.

NAB will become the first of the big four banks to offer everyday banking appointments via video, giving customers more choice and flexibility than ever before.

From March, customers can book an appointment online, choosing the option that works best for them – either a secure video call or an in-branch meeting.

This move sets a new benchmark in Australian banking, giving customers greater control and convenience when it comes to banking.

Paul Carter, NAB Executive for Retail Banking, said the launch reflects NAB’s commitment to simple and more personal banking:

“We know time is precious. This option gives customers the freedom to book when it suits them – whether they’re at home, at work or on the go.”

While video appointments for home lending have been available at NAB and other banks, this is the first time customers can book an everyday banking appointment remotely.

“So whether you need a new transaction account or advice about setting up an offset account or credit card, we’re now here when it suits you best,” Mr Carter said.

How it works

Using the service is simple: book an appointment online and choose an appointment with a banker that suits you. You can then meet via a Zoom call or in a NAB branch –whichever option works best for you.

After a pilot rollout in December, customers are already seeing the potential benefits. Melbourne mum Sian McKenzie said the service makes life easier:

NAB customer and gym owner, Johnny Bourke

“Getting into a branch with a four-month-old is almost impossible. Now I can jump on a video call during nap time and tick banking off my list without leaving the house.”

For Geelong gym owner Johnny Bourke, flexibility is key:

“I’m on the floor with clients all day. Being able to book a quick video appointment between sessions means I don’t lose time or income.”

And for Dean Barker, who runs a civil contracting business, the time savings are significant:

“Driving into town can chew up half a day. With video appointments, I can sort out banking from the farm office in minutes – it’s a game changer.”
