What does cash back mean?
Cash back is when you receive a credit back to your account. For example, when you make a purchase, you may get a fixed amount or a percentage of the amount you paid returned to your account. Cash back can be part of an offer, an ongoing product feature or a rewards points program and there will come with eligibility criteria that you have to meet. With NAB, there is cash back available on some of our credit cards and our NAB Platinum Visa Debit Card.
How does cash back work?
To receive cash back, you need to meet the eligibility criteria for the specific product or rewards points program you have or for the particular cash back offer. The eligibility criteria and how much money you’ll receive will depend on the product, rewards program or offer you sign up for.
The NAB Platinum Visa Debit Card cash back is an ongoing feature that’s part of the product itself. To earn the cash back, you make contactless purchases with your card each month and a percentage of those purchases will be returned to your account.
In comparison, both the NAB Low Fee Card and the NAB Low Rate Card have cash back offers. These cash back offers are available for a promotional period and you need to meet the eligibility criteria to earn the cash back (including a minimum monthly spend for the first three months).
You can also redeem NAB Rewards points for cash back. Our NAB Rewards credit cards earn points on eligible purchases and through the NAB Rewards store, you can redeem points and receive an amount that’s credited into your NAB transaction account or NAB Rewards card.
