What’s your story?
I love learning and I find it very easy to get excited by new ideas. This was great during my time at university; I studied Arts/Law and enjoyed learning Italian, Criminal Law, and about the Italian Legal System (talk about synergy!)
Like many people, when I graduated I had a tough time deciding what to do. Thankfully, I had two friends at NAB who suggested I apply for the Graduate Program as a way to use the skills I’d learnt during my study while gaining exposure to a variety of roles. I was lucky to be accepted in the 2017 intake, and I’m enjoying getting to explore different areas of the business.
How have you made a difference?
One of my most rewarding experiences at NAB has been participating in the Major Fundraiser. Each year the Grads are given the opportunity to raise funds for a charity of their choice, and in 2017 we supported Guide Dogs Victoria (GDV). As part of these efforts, I collaborated with a team of Grads to host an awareness session on the work that GDV does for Australians with low vision and blindness. It was fantastic to bring colleagues from across the business together to learn about the direct impact of their support, and to meet some of the Guide Dog puppies in training! We raised $2,000 for GDV from this session, and over $36,000 in donations from all of our fundraising activities.
What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about language and the way we communicate. In my spare time I’m a food writer, which means I have the happy task of describing all the delicious things I’ve eaten during my adventures across Melbourne. I also like to practice my Italian with anyone who’ll listen! At work, I enjoy learning more about accessibility and communicating effectively, and try to apply this knowledge to everything that I do.
