NAB Ready Together

As Australians face more frequent natural disasters, there’s a growing need to help communities become more resilient.

We’re playing our part through NAB Ready Together. This NAB and NAB Foundation flagship program helps Australians withstand and recover from natural disasters. When you’re threatened by bushfires, floods or cyclones, we'll be there.

Whatever comes, we’re ready together.

It takes many hands to get communities back up and running after a disaster. That’s why NAB and NAB Foundation partner with disaster relief organisations to help communities recover faster.

In 2022, NAB was the only bank to partner with Resilient Building Council (RBC) to create a resilience ratings system and self-assessment app that helps customers to better protect their homes from the threat of bushfire. Find out more about our partnership.

Disaster Relief Australia

Disaster Relief Australia (DRA) is a veteran-led not-for-profit that unites veterans and volunteers from all walks of life to help communities prepare for and recover from disaster.

Unlike emergency services, which provide immediate disaster response, DRA focuses on either side of the emergency in the preparedness and recovery phases. It works with communities to identify risks, develop disaster management strategies, and build their capability to face future challenges. When disaster strikes, DRA shifts its focus to recovery. In the aftermath of a disaster, DRA provides essential cleanup and support to help communities pick up the pieces and rebuild their lives. Be it flood, bushfire, cyclone or storm, DRA is there to support people on some of their toughest days, helping them take the first steps on the road to recovery.

NAB Foundation’s founding partnership with Disaster Relief Australia (DRA), bolsters community resilience and disaster recovery by building DRA’s corporate and community volunteering capacity.

People interested in volunteering can register with the NAB Foundation Recovery Crew.

Girls on Fire

Girls on Fire is a not-for-profit organisation driving change in the emergency services sector. With continued support from the NAB Foundation, Girls on Fire have expanded their fire and resilience programs across Australia, empowering more young people to step forward and be leaders in their community.

The programs aim to train the next generation of firefighters and improve gender diversity and inclusion in the emergency sector. During a Girls on Fire resilience camp, facilitators take participants through hands-on practical rotations to help young girls and gender diverse kids build resilience and show them what leadership under pressures looks like.

“Everyone has a role to play in protecting Australia from disasters. That’s why we’re focused on inspiring the next generation of young girls and gender diverse kids.

It’s incredible and with NAB Foundation’s continued support and the signing of a new three-year partnership I’ve been able to reach more young people across Australia,” says Bronnie Mackintosh, CEO and Founder of Girls on Fire.
