Support available for flood affected customers

  • NAB launches relief measures for customers impacted by the floods in the East Coast of NSW
  • Disaster Relief Grants of $1,000 are being made available for eligible NAB customers in impacted areas.
  • Loan deferrals, reduced repayment arrangements and extra care options available.

NAB is providing $1,000 grants and additional financial relief to customers severely impacted by the flooding and severe weather in the East Coast of NSW.

The grants will help NAB customers who have suffered damage to their home, farm or business, cover emergency expenses.

NAB Executive Retail, New South Wales, Tony Story said a range of support measures – from grants to loan payment deferrals and other relief measures – are in place to help NAB customers impacted by the floods.

“Communities in the East Coast are currently experiencing some of the worst flooding to the region in decades,” Mr Story said.

“This is a difficult time for our communities and we’re here to help. We’re providing immediate assistance and making $1,000 grants available to help NAB customers impacted.”

Assistance is available for NAB customers in the impacted local government areas of: Armidale, Bellingen, Central Coast, Cessnock, Clarence Valley, Coffs Harbour, Dungog, Kempsey, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Mid Coast, Muswellbrook, Nambucca, Newcastle, Port Macquarie, Port Stephens, Singleton and Upper Hunter, Walcha.

Further support is available for NAB customers directly impacted, including:

  • Loan deferral or reduced repayment arrangements for home, personal and some business loans.
  • Extra care support for customers struggling to make minimum monthly payments on personal loans, home loans or credit cards.
  • Deferring upcoming credit card payments.
  • Waiving and/or refunding fees and charges, including merchant terminal fees and early access fees to term deposits.

NAB colleagues who have been evacuated from their place of residence or cut off from support services can also access funds to assist with temporary accommodation and everyday essentials.

Customers affected by NSW floods can apply for a Disaster Relief Grant online. For financial hardship assistance, or if you are unable to apply for a Disaster Relief Grant online, you can call NAB on:

  • 1300 308 132 for personal customers
  • 1300 769 650 for business customers; or
  • NAB messaging in the App and on Internet Banking

All enquiries will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the NAB Assist team to determine eligibility. Disaster Relief Grants for impacted customers will remain open until 19th June 2025.

NAB also has a longstanding policy to provide employees who are emergency service volunteers as much paid crisis leave as they require during emergencies.
