Things to know about setting up repayments
- If you’re new to NAB, make sure you’re registered for NAB Internet Banking before you follow our guide.
- Setting up your personal loan repayments during the application stage can only be done when the status is ‘To do’.
- If you have an existing personal loan and would prefer a direct debit repayment or want to pay from another financial institution, please complete and submit the direct debit request form (PDF, 541KB), opens in new window.
Steps to create a direct debit on a new loan
Set up your direct debit before your loan is drawn down by using NAB Internet Banking.
Instructions for web browsers

Log into NAB Internet Banking with your 8 to 10-digit NAB ID and password.

Under the ‘Products’ tab, select Applications.

Select your application and then select Loan Accounts.

Choose the repayment frequency you’d like.

View the calculated repayment amount. For other options, change the repayment frequency again.

Choose which account you want your scheduled repayments to be taken from.

Select Save repayments.
Steps to create a recurring payment
Set up a recurring payment for new or existing loans using the NAB app or NAB Internet Banking.

Log into the NAB app.

Select Transfer & Pay.

Choose the NAB account you want to transfer from and select your NAB Personal Loan as the account you want to transfer to.

Enter your repayment amount.

Select Pay when and pick a start date.

Select the Recurring tab to choose the frequency of the payment and an end date. Tap Apply.

Tap Next to review your payment details and tap Pay now.

Log into NAB Internet Banking with your 8 to 10-digit NAB ID and password.

Select the Transfer & Pay menu and choose the ‘Transfer’ option.

Choose the NAB account you want to transfer from and select your NAB Personal Loan as the account you want to transfer to.

Enter your repayment amount.

Select the Recurring tab under ‘When’ to pick your repayment frequency, start date and end date.

Select Next to review your payment details and select Confirm.
