What is the NAB StarCamp program?

NAB StarCamp is our global intensive 12-week bootcamp. The full-time program commences on 25 November 2024 and concludes 14 February 2025 (includes 10-weeks paid bootcamp and 2 weeks unpaid leave over the Christmas and New Year period).

Our Technology NAB StarCamp program is only available in Melbourne.

  • career-transitioners who are looking to change to a career in technology.

How the NAB StarCamp program works

During the intensive NAB StarCamp program you’ll discover what it’s like to learn and work in technology at one of Australia’s most successful financial institutions. 

You’ll be supported with a curated learning and development program, become certified in AWS and Azure, have opportunities to join our inhouse technology challenges and network with senior leaders across our business. 

Upon successful completion of our NAB StarCamp program you may have the opportunity to join our exclusive 15-month paid Technology Residency Program.

What is the Technology Residency Program?

Our Technology Residency Program is only open for exceptional NAB StarCamp graduates and involves two longer term business rotations across our teams to build breadth and depth of capability. 

The program runs from 17 February 2025 until 22 May 2026 and can be completed full time or part time.

How the Technology Residency Program works

Across the Technology Residency Program, you’ll receive:

  • additional training and development
  • rotations in genuine roles doing real and impactful work
  • ongoing coaching and mentoring
  • networking with local and global colleagues 
  • continuous support every step of the way.

You’ll continue to build your accreditations in specialist tools and technologies alongside developing the skills, knowledge and relationships needed to build a successful and inspiring technology career. 

At program conclusion you’ll receive support to find a permanent role that suits your capabilities and aspirations.

Suitable candidates 

We’re looking for innovators, dynamic disrupters, and ambitious leaders to help us deliver. We’re looking for individuals who love to solve problems by writing code and designing software systems. You need to have a curiosity about technology, a passion for engineering and a personal commitment to continuous learning and development.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Technology Talent Program you’ll need to meet the following criteria.

  1. Have completed your certificate, diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate degree no more than one year prior to the program start date (25 November 2024). Or be due to complete it by the end of January 2026.
  2. Commit to full time employment during the term of the bootcamp period.
  3. Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or be an Australian permanent resident at the time of program application.

Studies need to include a technology major in conjunction with one of the below degrees:

  • business information systems
  • computer engineering
  • computer science
  • digital technologies
  • information technology
  • programming
  • software engineering
  • robotics
  • mathematics
  • mechatronics
  • civil engineering
  • mechanical engineering

Where our Technology Talent Program can take you

Our program is designed to develop the foundations for our leading technical talent. You’ll enhance your understanding of software engineering principles and how they apply in our enterprise environments. 

Once you have successfully completed both NAB StarCamp and our Technology Residency Program, you can expect to transition into an Engineer, Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Associate, Business Analyst role or similar.

Application and selection process

We have simplified our application process with five steps.

Step 1. The online application

In this step you’ll need to provide your resume, a cover letter telling us about yourself, and your academic transcript using our career portal.

Step 2. Online assessments

If you meet our eligibility criteria, we’ll invite you to our online assessment phase. You’ll need to complete our online abilities assessment followed by a technical codility challenge.

Step 3. Online interview

This stage is where we’ll contact you for an initial phone interview and/or video interview.

Step 4. Interview

The final stage of our recruitment process is an interview with representatives from our technology teams. You’ll get an opportunity to interact with managers, gain an understanding of the various technology projects at NAB and demonstrate your skills and personality. Importantly, during this stage you can ask questions and find out more about the experience and benefits of working in technology at NAB.

Step 5. Offer
