Telstra and Optus’ 3G network shutdown
NAB has been getting ready for Telstra and Optus’ 3G shutdown for more than two years, with upgrades to tens of thousands of POS terminals.
On Monday 28th October 2024, Telstra will commence turning off the 3G network. In the event that your MOVE5000 terminal is currently connected to 3G, please follow the below:
- Power reset the terminal
- Check that the terminal is not on 3G only:
- Press Menu
- Press 4, Terminal
- Press 3, Other
- Press 3, Manager Menu
- Screen will display: Password?, press Enter
- Press Control Panel
- Press Terminal Settings
- Press Communication Means
- Press Mobile Networks
- Press Set Network Type
- Select 4G Only, press Enter
**The terminal may not stay on the 4G selection. In the instance where the terminal reverts back to 3G, please repeat the above steps.**
- Configure the terminal to use Wi-Fi and /or Ethernet
- Check the coverage or outages map from Telstra:
