Setting up Segregation of Duties | NAB Connect - NAB

Why follow this guide?

  • To ensure that the person who creates a payment cannot authorise the same payment.

Complete the NAB Connect Amendment form

Segregation of Duties is a security feature that ensures the user who creates a payment can’t then authorise that same payment.

Make sure you’re logged into NAB Connect as an Administrator to get started.

  1. From the Admin menu, select ‘Facility Amendment’.
  2. Select 'Change security settings (Segregation of Duties, Authorisation Rules and Dual Admin)', then Select 'Next'.
  3. Confirm Business contact details and update with new details if required then Select 'Next'.
  4. In the 'Segregation of duties' section, select either Off or On. The Select 'Next'.
    • On, ensures a user who creates a payment cannot then authorise that same payment.
  5. Review details and Select 'Submit'. A confirmation screen will appear with a unique reference number
  6. A password protected pdf will be emailed to the nominated business contact for the signatories to sign. An SMS with a password to the pdf will also be sent to the nominated business contact.
    • If you have requested other accounts, in a different legal name to be linked to the NAB Connect facility, these signatories will need to sign too.
    • If you don’t receive an email within 8 hours please contact NAB Connect Servicing on 1300 888 413.
  7. Email the signed form via return email.

Alternatively, you can use the NAB Connect Amendment form via nab.com.au.

Please note

We strongly recommend that you turn on Segregation of Duties if you have multiple Authorising Users or Administrators to protect your business from exposure to internal or external fraud risks.
