Switching to NAB is easy
Our business experts are here to help guide you every step of the way, ensuring your transition to NAB is seamless and supports your small business goals.
Step 1 - Choose the right business solution for your needs
Explore our range of business banking products and services to find the perfect fit for your business.
Here’s how you can get started with NAB for your small business banking needs:
Open a NAB Business Transaction Account
Simplify your everyday business banking with a NAB Business Transaction Account. Choose from options tailored to businesses of all sizes, including a $0 monthly fee account for cost-effective management.
Register for NAB Internet Banking
Manage your business accounts easily with NAB Internet Banking. Enjoy payment limits up to $100,000, and add new users and accounts as your business grows.
Register for NAB Connect
For businesses with higher transaction limits, NAB Connect offers solutions for payments exceeding $60,000 daily and provides customised user access for enhanced control.
Step 2 - Notify suppliers, customers and employees that you have switched to NAB
- If your customers pay directly using your BSB and account number, you will need to advise them of your new NAB account details.
- If you have direct debits that are set up to automatically debit your existing BSB and account number, you will need to advise your new NAB account details. For example, this could be in relation to bills such as insurance, telephone or electricity.
- If you provide your BSB and account number on your invoices, update these with your new account details. We recommend using a PayID® in place of your BSB and account
- You can also create a PayID for your business.
Step 3 - Updating accounting and payroll systems
You will need to update your accounting and payroll systems with your new NAB BSB, account number, account name and Direct Credit User ID.
Save time by linking your new NAB account with your accounting software so that your bank transaction details are sent straight through to your accounting software, instead of manually entering them yourself. Bank feeds are available for most major accounting software packages, with no NAB fees to set these up. This will save you time and make it much faster and easier to reconcile your accounts.
Step 4: Access a merchant payment solution for your business
NAB Merchant Services offer convenient and secure customer payment and merchant solutions to help your business take payments online, in-person or both.
EFTPOS machines
Our EFTPOS machines are ideal for fast, secure, and simple payments in-store or on the move.
NAB Easy Tap

NAB Gateway
The fast easy and reliable way for your business to take online payments.
Step 5 - Close your old account
Download any relevant saved payee details and statement history from your previous online banking platform. You may wish to simultaneously keep both your new NAB account and prior banking account open for a period of time to provide comfort that all key payments have transitioned. Once you are confident that all the necessary changes have been made for both direct credits and direct debits, and you no longer require this account, you can arrange closure.
