There are different types of international fees that apply when you use your NAB Visa debit cards or NAB credit cards with an overseas merchant. Knowing when you’ll be charged the fees, how much they are and how to avoid them can be confusing. Let’s break it down and simplify it for you.
Cash advance fees and interest may apply.
These fees will not apply to NAB Flexiplus Mortgage accounts or NAB Portfolio Facility or NAB Private Portfolio Facility sub accounts.
For transactions accessing linked transaction or savings accounts.
The $0 foreign currency transaction fee only applies to purchase transactions on the NAB Platinum Visa Debit card. You will be charged the fee if you do a cash withdrawal.
4% of total transaction value will be included in the total amount when you use the card to make a transaction (ATM, EFTPOS, internet or phone) and the card does not hold the currency. It also applies when a fee is charged to the card in a currency not on the card.
Some operators may directly charge you a fee.
