Budget Planner Calculator for Monthly Budget Planning - NAB

What is a budget planner?

A budget planner (also known as a budget tool or budgeting calculator) can help you understand how much money you earn, how much you’re spending, and what you’ll have left after expenses. By listing your income and expenses in one place, it can give you a clear picture of your financial situation and help you:

  • track your income and expenses across different spending categories
  • see where your money is going and spot overspending
  • plan for goals like saving more or paying down debt
  • adjust your budget easily as your circumstances change.

By planning your budget, this gives you the information you need to make realistic, informed choices about your money.

How to use our budget planner

Log into NAB Internet Banking or the NAB app to start tracking your finances with NAB’s budgets tool or use our free budget planner for a detailed breakdown of your finances.

  1. Tap on a category tab to open the accordion.
  2. Enter amounts for each item that’s relevant to you and skip those that don’t apply (none of the fields are mandatory).
  3. Use bank statements, transaction listings or other NAB app tools to help you complete the planner.
  4. Repeat the process for each category that applies to you.
  5. Print your budget for your records.

Remember, as your financial circumstances change, you may want to use the budget planner again to get the most accurate view of your finances.
