Industry experience

Anna has more than 25 years' executive and non-executive leadership experience across government, financial services, industry bodies and the not-for-profit sector. Through senior executive and board roles spanning the public and private sectors, she has gained extensive expertise in strategy, governance, risk oversight and public accountability. She brings a strong track record of providing strategic direction and oversight in complex stakeholder, regulatory and commercial environments, including through periods of significant change.

Other business and market experience

Anna served as the 37th Premier of Queensland from 2007 to 2012 and was the first woman appointed to the role. During her parliamentary career, she held several senior ministerial portfolios, including Deputy Premier, Treasurer, and Minister for Finance, State Development, Trade and Innovation and Education. In these roles, she oversaw significant education reforms, major infrastructure initiatives and economic development programs, and was a member of the Queensland Cabinet Budget Review Committee for 11 years.

Prior to entering Parliament, Anna held policy and leadership roles across community organisations and the Queensland Public Service, with a particular focus on employment, training and industrial relations.

Anna was Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Banking Association from 2017 to 2025 and a Director of the International Banking Federation. She previously served as Chief Executive Officer of YWCA NSW and as a Non-Executive Director of Medibank Private.
